The Clarisonic first made its debut in 2005 with the Classic Cleansing System. Since then, every other sonic cleansing system fails to live up to the original's gentle, oscillating brush. Now four different Clarisonic systems and five different brush heads later, the folks at Clarisonic are introducing a cleansing system that targets acne prone skin - an idea that they've been working on from the very beginning.

The Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Collection ($169) features the most gentle brush head to date. Created with soft, velvet-like bristles and extra-plush bristle gradation, the Acne Cleansing Brush Head is ideal for getting every speckle of dirt out of pores. The system also includes the new Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser, made with two-percent salicylic acid to dry out blemishes while drenching skin with vitamins and botanicals that leave you with a softer and clearer looking complexion.

The collection comes complete with the new Mia 2 - an upgraded version of the original travel-friendly Mia that features two speeds of cleansing, a pulsing T-Timer that allows you to give every section of your face the right amount of time it needs to be cleansed, and a two-year warranty.

This was my first time using a sonic cleanser. Having acne prone skin, I was a bit reluctant on trying it since I’ve heard that too much exfoliating can lead to more breakouts. But after being assured that the new brush head is ideal for acne prone skin, I gave it a whirl and immediately became obsessed. The bristles are so gentle and the T-Timer makes cleansing quicker and easier. It truly gives you all-around, impeccably clean skin without irritation. I’ve used it every night and most definitely saw an improvement in my complexion.
