Summer is right around the corner, and while others may be rejoicing, I’m cringing inside at the thought of having to wear less clothing. With that said, one of my new daily hangouts is the gym. I’m totally that girl that curls her eyelashes, applies waterproof mascara and puts her hair into a cute style before hitting spin class. (Hey, I’m not ashamed!) Here is my favorite workout-friendly hairstyle.

Get the look: 

You can’t go wrong with a ponytail that pulls all the hair off your face and keeps you from feeling excessively hot. However, I love adding a twist to my ponytails by upping the volume on top (like Kim Kardashian’s style here). 
  • An easy way to add instant volume? Dry shampoo! I keep a bottle of Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo in my gym bag to refresh my hair after working out, and it also works for this style. Spray your roots at the crown and, using a small-toothed comb, tease your hair into a slight pouf on top.
  • Slick the sides back with hair gel or pomade (I love Aveda Brilliant Humectant Pomade) and pull your hair up - leaving the poufy part loose - into a ponytail.
  • Set with a light holding spray such as Motions Hold & Shine Styling Spray. This stuff is great because it holds while adding shine.
